There are things that are known and things that are unknown; in between is exploration. Someone has to pay the final price for achieving the goal. Not that she ever wanted to, nobody asked her.

She was the chosen one.

She walked the streets of Moscow in beauty, with dignity, though homeless. Her ancestry was not known for certain except that she was born somewhere in that country. Her destiny was determined by the greed of mankind. And she was just an innocent dog.

They called her Laika.

Oleg Gazenko, one of the lead scientists on the Soviet animals-in-space program, expressed his deep regrets during a Moscow news conference: "The more time passes, the more I'm sorry about it. We shouldn't have done it.... We did not learn enough from this mission to justify the death of the dog."

'Laika'

It's been so long, and I remember
Being small and being used
It felt so wrong, oh I remember
How it felt, to be confused

You put your hands upon my body
You made me wait so many times
Too many pains in one small body
My life was yours, my life and time

And it feels like I gave everything to you
You don't have a care
And it feels like nothing can stop what you do
No you don't have a care for your crime

What did you do with all the knowledge?
What did you do when I was gone?
What made it right, my death was knowledge?
Just a dog, your sacrifice

Now I'm a name, now I'm a hero
Now I'm written, just a word
But I'm ashamed to be your hero
Goodbye cruel, cruel world

And it feels like I gave everything to you
You don't have a care
And it feels like nothing can stop what you do
No you don't have a care
And it feels like I gave everything to you
And you don't have a care
Adn it feels like nothing can stop what you do
No you don't have a care for your crimes

Floating in the sky
So you can wonder why
I was once alive
Floating in the sky

And it feels like I gave everything to you
And you don't have a care
And it feels like nothing can stop what you do
And you don't have a care
And it feels like everything comes back to you
I burned in the air
And it feels like life belongs only to you
And you don't have a care for your crime

And it feels like I gave everything to you
And you don't have a care
And it feels like nothing can stop what you do
And you don't have a care
And it feels like everything comes back to you
When I burned in the air
And it feels like life belongs only to you
No you don't have a care
Cos it feels like I gave everything to you
And you don't have a care
And it feels like nothing can stop what you do
No you don't have a care
And it feels like everything comes back to you
And I burned in the air
And it feels like life belongs only to you
And you don't wanna care
And you don't wanna care
For me, for me...
