We were asked by Sue Mountain to write a song for precious Angel who fought so hard in the last days of his life to make it through and to live in peace. Sadly Angel's body was too damaged after a lifelong struggle against neglect and he passed away on 23rd July 2010 surrounded by kind people who loved and cared for him. Angel's memory and his story of courage will live on and give hope to other voiceless animals who need our protection and care.

ANGEL'S STORY

'A song for Angel'

Far, far away on the cloud where you sleep
Softly now angel, no terror to keep
Where suffering and pain is no longer your own
And gently kind voices are calling you home...

Lost in a prayer that the world said as one
For a little lost angel too tired now to run
You are the face of a million before
And crying in silence will hurt you no more.

Sweet gentle babe well the world is too harsh
And you are the candle that burns in our hearts
You fought of your best and you gave of your all
But heaven was waiting and your name was called.

Sleep in the arms of the love of pure peace
And know that we care for the lost and the weak
Trust we remember your courage and pain
And there at the rainbow we will meet again.

Far, far away on the cloud where you sleep
Softly now angel, no terror to keep
Where suffering and pain is no longer your own
And gently kind voices are calling you home...
