It is clear at first listen that they are well on their way to musical greatness! But just what is it that makes them so amazing? I think it is the obvious enthusiasm that they put into every note of their music. Hailing from Cambridgeshire, UK, the Maria Daines band formed in 1996 becoming a fixture of the live music scene & making several TV appearances, garnering fans in over 20 countries and recently winning awards including best artist in the International Online Music Awards 2006 & 2007. Frequently aired on BBC radio and FM stations, the band supported US artist Pink at Cardiff International Arena for the Party For Animals World Wide in August 2007. The concert raised over £90,000 for six animal welfare charities.

Maria Daines is an animal advocate, Patron of Dog Watch UK - The Staffy Campaign, Patron of Cornwall's Voice For Animals, Animal SOS Sri Lanka, Doris Banham Sanctuary, The Racing Dog Protection Act, Honorary Member of Skiathos Cat Society and co-founder of One Life Rescue, helping unwanted dogs in crisis and emergency situations.

Maria is also a member of Animals Count, a political party which aims to take animal issues to the top of the political agenda through setting the best policies for animals and encouraging existing political parties to become more animal friendly.
